The Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Romania (CCE-R) together with the Swiss Association had the pleasure of organising a two-day business trip to Sibiu and its surroundings during September 28-29, 2007. This was a good opportunity for the CCE-R members to network with each other while visiting the now well-known European Capital of Culture in 2007.
Shortly upon their arrival to Sibiu, CCE-R members and guests had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Martin Bottesch, the President of the Sibiu County Council and discuss about business opportunities within the Sibiu region. A detailed guided tour of Sibiu followed, allowing us to take a close look to the medieval fortifications of Sibiu, its cultural buildings, old churches and open spaces alike.
The second day of the CCE-R trip was spent in the surroundings of Sibiu. We thus had the chance to visit the fortified church of Cisnadie, the first monument on the Romanian territory combining the archaic basilica with an elevation in Gothic Moorish style. Afterwards, the visit continued to the church of Cisnadioara, a Romanic church dating from 1223 which is considered an invaluable monument of rural ecclesiastic architecture.
The Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Romania would like to seize this opportunity and thank all its members and guests for their participation to this trip. We hope everybody enjoyed this experience and we kindly invite you to CCE-R similar events next year. Finally, you can now enjoy the picture gallery which might remind you a few moments spent in Sibiu.
