Holcim has completed an investment of EUR 11.5 million Date: 2010-01-11
Holcim has launched a new cement terminal in Progresul Bucharest following an 11.5 million euro investment that reduces the distribution costs and the environmental impact
Even if the construction materials demand decreased, Holcim continues to invest and consolidate its position on the Romanian market. The new cement terminal has increased the storage capacity to 6,000 tonnes and the delivery capacity from 60,000 tonnes /year to 400,000 tonnes /year.
„Through this distribution center Holcim wants to be closer to the beneficiaries of the most important market concentration from Romania. Moreover, the new terminal allows the replacement of the road transport with rail transport from the cement plant to Bucharest, allowing optimized distribution costs and a considerable reduction of the environmental impact”, said Markus Wirth, CEO of Holcim România.
The new facilities meet the highest standards of performance, environmental protection and safety. Deliveries can be made easily, by simply dialing 0248 506 600 or *CIMENT (*246368) on the mobile phones. The products will be delivered within the next 24 hours following the order.
The new equipment allows direct loading from wagons to vehicles and can supply a wide variety of products, from gray bulk cement, concrete, mortar to hydraulic road binders.
Holcim is one of the world's leading suppliers of cement and aggregates (crushed stone, sand and gravel) as well as further activities such as ready-mix concrete and asphalt including services.
