Over the last 25 years, the Chamber has evolved into a trusted platform for dialogue and cooperation, uniting businesses, institutions, and changemakers from both countries. This foundation of trust has enabled sustainable growth, fostered resilience, and delivered long-term success – proving that when vision meets reliability, and diverse strengths converge, remarkable results follow.
Looking ahead, we are committed to building on this legacy. From business and technology to healthcare, education, and sustainability, the Chamber will continue to champion initiatives that drive innovation, create opportunities, and enhance the prosperity and well-being of communities in both Switzerland and Romania.
For 25 years, the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Romania has been a dynamic presence in Romania – building bridges between the Swiss and Romanian business communities, stimulating investments, and facilitating constructive dialogue with authorities on key economic issues.
Trade relations between Romania and Switzerland are strong and steadily expanding. In 2024, bilateral trade reached approximately CHF 3.8 billion, making Romania Switzerland’s top trading partner in Southeastern Europe. With investments totaling EUR 3.54 billion, Switzerland ranked as the 8th-largest foreign investor in Romania, maintaining a place in the top ten for foreign direct investment over many years.
Today, the Chamber unites 190 member companies with a combined turnover of approximately EUR 8.5 billion and employing approx. 30,000 people in Romania, representing a strong presence across numerous sectors of the economy. Our activities are supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Romania and by partner trade organizations in Switzerland, ensuring a robust network for collaboration and growth.
