Bioethics and the Value of Health Data Lessons from the Past, Guidance for the Future

With this event, we wish to bring together important representatives from the healthcare sector: public healthcare authorities, specialist physicians, patients’ associations, representatives of the pharmaceutical sector and renowned international specialists that will shape the opportunities offered by the use of healthcare data in Romanian clinical practice.

The event will be opened by His Excellency, Mr. Arthur Mattli, the Ambassador of Swiss Confederation in Romania, together with the hosts representatives from the Senate Committees and the guest speaker will be Prof. Dr. Effy Vayena, professor of Bioethics at the Federal Technical University of Zurich (ETHZ).

Currently, the healthcare sector is responsible for 30% of the data generated at global level yet over 90% remains unused. Innovative treatments rely more and more on the power of data but in order to benefit from this opportunity we need to identify the best solutions to ensure the protection and confidentiality of patient data.

This event is an initiative of the Healthcare Working Group of CCE-R and is organized with the support of Roche Romania.
