A third event on cardiovascular diseases will be held in Cluj-Napoca in November 2025.
Objective: Introduce topics related to cardiovascular diseases that the working group can help address
Attendees: Important stakeholders from both local and national levels
Progress on the 720 Reimbursement List
The Swiss Ambassador is planning a meeting at the Prime Minister level in the upcoming period of time. In addition, his Excellency is looking into facilitating a discussion with all Ambassadors of the involved countries (Germany, Denmark, Sweden, France, Belgium, Switzerland).
Concern: Delays are damaging Romania's image as a trade partner.
Action: Frank Loeffler, head of the CCE-R Health group, will accompany the Swiss Ambassador to the initial meeting.
Strategy: Diplomatic efforts will supplement the actions of pharma associations.
Outcome: Expect an agreement on how countries will address this issue and the establishment of clear timelines to achieve predictability in reimbursement.
Predictability
Proposal: A commitment or memorandum should be signed to show the pharma industry how the new Government will ensure predictability.
Importance: Knowing future developments in advance is crucial for the industry.
Other Topics:
Economic and Fiscal Incentives for Pharma Industry (Novartis - Nona Chiriac): Continue to advocate for the new Government to offer such incentives.
Patient Programmes (Cebis Intl. - Mihai Manolache): Propose government funding (at least partial) for patient support programs.
Previously discussed in other associations.
Needs to be framed as a win-win: companies invest (R&D, etc.), and this is reflected in tax bills or claw-back tax levels.
AI Clinical Research (Iulia Tăbăcaru): Suggest studying and implementing the Australian model for pharma industry incentives and patient programs.
Robotics for Orthopaedic Surgery (Zimmer Biomet - Marian Isac): Note the increasing global use of surgical robotics in orthopaedics. The Government is considering a national program to equip hospitals with these robots.
