For the second consecutive year the Romanian Senate opens its doors to celebrate International Children's Day on June 1st.
Diplomatic missions are invited to join this event and offer the children the opportunity to discover, through play, how childhood feels like in different cultures and different states.
The participation of the Swiss Embassy in this event is a strong commitment in promoting children's rights and raising awareness about the importance of prioritizing children’s interests.
On this occasion, the Swiss Embassy together with the National Cyber Security Directorate and the Swissweb Academy Association in Sibiu will launch the Romanian version of two comics for children and their families on online security, published by the Federal Office of Communications OFCOM: “Povești cotidiene digitale” and “Intâmplări de pe net”. Such brochures have never been published before in Romania. We are very glad to contribute with these materials to raising awareness about responsible online behaviour and encourage a healthy approach to mobile phones, computers and managing one’s own data.
The comics provide teachers, parents and grandparents with a basis for discussion with young people about everyday digital live, as well as offering practical advice.
The two comics are supported by the Ministry of Education, the Swiss-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and the Swiss Sponsors’ Fund. The original can be accessed and downloaded free of charge on this website: https://www.websters.
Swissweb Academy Association in Sibiu will organize workshops where children will learn about prevention and security on internet. Each child participating in the workshop will receive a gift from the Embassy (brochures, cap, pen, sweets, etc.) and a diploma.
At our tent, the children will spin the wheel of fortune and win various promotional materials provided by the Embassy. Personalized balloons, sweets from Nestlé Romania and water from Aqua Carpatica are waiting for the little one.
