Gieringer has been working in the hospitality industry and within the Hilton chain for almost 25 years. Most recently he spent five years in Hungary as general manager of Hilton Budapest City; during his time here, he lead the hotel to winning various international hospitality accolades, as well as personally being honored by Hilton with the award of “Leader of the Year – Europe 2014” within the entire Hilton Brands Europe.

Apart from operating Hilton hotels, Gieringer also gained experience while occupying different positions in Hilton Nicosia, while the hotel underwent an extensive rebranding, and in Hilton Sofia for the hotel’s opening in the early 2000s. Gieringer’s extensive experience in hospitality began early in his youth, while studying with the Hotelfachschule Villa Blanka, the Hotel Management School in Austria.
Gieringer returns to Bucharest after 13 years, as he had former occupied the position of F&B Operations Manager of Athénée Palace Hilton in 2003-2005. “I am delighted to be back at this iconic property and to be joining a team that has a strong commitment in providing superior guest service; together we will ensure that Athénée Palace Hilton continues its legacy of delivering exceptional experiences. In addition we will be developing new flavors within our Food and Beverage offerings, as well as launch numerous special themed events in the future,” said Rainer Gieringer. “Furthermore, it is truly exciting to return to Bucharest and see how the market has grown over the years; I look forward to supporting the local hospitality industry to drive even greater impact and to continue promoting Bucharest to tourists around the world.”
