News in the medical law field - October 2025

Reforming the healthcare system – Law 163/2025 has been in force since October 27, 2025.

The reasons behind the law, according to statements by Prime Minister Bolojan, are:

• Increasing access to medical services,

• Professional management in hospitals and contracts based on performance indicators,

• Fairer payment for family doctors,

• Encouraging specialist outpatient services,

• Changing the mechanism for access to innovative medicines,

• Increasing the accountability of private hospitals – for admissions within 48 hours, the private hospital covers the costs,

• Making the use of funds for hospitals more efficient.
